What began as a small northeast Columbia practice has grown through steady leadership, lifelong learning, and the trust of patients who continue to return—some from the very first years.

1968

The beginning
A dental home takes root in northeast Columbia.
Dr. Peter Orr, DDS opened the practice on Towne Drive. His commitment to serving the people of Columbia established a foundation that still guides the office today.
1988–90

A trusted transition
Dr. Gunilla Murphy carries the practice forward.
After joining as an associate in 1988, Dr. Murphy purchased the practice in 1990, continuing the tradition of close, patient-centered dental relationships.
2001

A new generation
Dr. Sally Powell joins the team.
Fresh from the UMKC School of Dentistry, Dr. Powell arrived with a belief that high-quality dentistry begins with listening carefully to every patient.
2006

An enduring commitment
Dr. Powell becomes the owner—and steward—of the practice.
When Dr. Powell purchased the practice from Dr. Murphy, she continued a legacy already decades in the making. In 2010, the practice moved to the Village of Cherry Hill, creating a modern Columbia home for the same warm, attentive care.
2026

Looking ahead
Dr. Kamryn M. Goodlet joins the practice.
A Columbia native, University of Missouri School of Dentistry graduate, and close family friend of Dr. Powell, Dr. Goodlet brings a compassionate, patient-centered approach that makes the practice’s next chapter feel both new and familiar.
